The visual aspect of the performance is very important to me. I always consider carefully the colours and staging, and am happy to create an overall experience for the audiences. An essential part of this is the costumes, which I usually design and make myself. I've always been interested in the history of clothing and costumes: how they mirror their time and what messages you can send through them.
Making costumes goes hand in hand with the musical preparation process of a performance. While stamping the sewing machine pedal I repeat the songs in my head and they deepen in my subconsciousness.
